No schedule, but I'll be at the retreat house to welcome you by mid afternoon! Let me know your travel plans, and I can arrange transportation from Bellingham Airport to the retreat house.
7:00-8:00 - Dinner at our retreat location. Hopefully, most participants will be here, so that we can get to know each other!
7:00am - Warm up dynamic yoga session led by Ingela Abbott. Ingela is one of the most highly trained Iyengar Yoga teachers in the country, and she'll lead us through a session to prepare our bodies for the day!
7:45 - Breakfast. During breakfast, Krissy Moehl, our head coach, will share some of her trail wisdom, and we'll share our individual running goals.
9:45-11:45 - Guided run at Lake Padden. This local trail system has something for everyone. We'll break into two or more groups for this one; an easy paced one ona relatively non technical trail with little elevation change, and a more challenging run on some of Padden's "horse trails". Runs are led by Krissy, with other coaches as needed.
12:00-2:00pm - Lunch. TBD. We'll either head back to our retreat location or dine at a local spot.
2:00-3:30 - Nutrition discussion and presentation by Maria Dalzott. She's a champion trail runner, and a registered dietitian, so her experience on WHAT and WHEN to eat during training is a great place to start.
3:30-4:30 - Easy paced run in nearby Whatcom Falls Park, or the lower section of Galbraith Mountain.
5:00 - Presentation by Diane Ripper, Sports Hypnotherapist. She'll introduce you to the ideas behind sports hypnotherapy and performance.
6:30-7:30 - Dinner at our retreat location.
7:30 - Time to wind down, settle in, go for a walk, do some yoga, chat with new friends.
7:00am - Warm up dynamic yoga session led by Ingela Abbott.
7:45 - Breakfast.
9:45-11:45 - Trail Run in the Chuckanuts, a local mountain trail system and a local favorite! Again, we'll break up into at least two groups, each with a coach. There will be some climbing, and some trails are quite technical. We'll focus on great trail technique and how to handle some longer climbs.
12:00-1:30 - Lunch in Fairhaven. The local neighborhood of Fairhaven is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, grab a delicious cup of coffee, or sample some chocolate after our run! We'll be on our own, so there is plenty of time to check out the town and eat.
1:30 - Meet at Fairhaven Runners and Walkers in Fairhaven for a running shoe demo session. Hoka shoe representatives will be on hand to help you try the perfect shoe.
3:00-4:00 - Yoga led by Ingela Abbott.
4:00 - Self care demonstration and lecture by Kerry Gustafson. Kerry has years of experience as an Athletic Trainer and Massage Therapist.
5:00-6:00 - Easy paced run, focus on recovery effort. Again, we'll have several pace groups, and we'll run this time on some very flat trails along our beautiful waterfront boardwalk and Boulevard Park.
6:30 - Dinner in Fairhaven at a local food truck, followed by a brew at Stones Throw, a truly delightful and unique brewery in Fairhaven.
7:00am - Warm up Yoga with Ingela Abbott.
7:45am - Breakfast
9:45-11:45 - Trail run at Lake Padden. As with Saturday's morning run, we'll have several groups and will tackle some more technical trails.

2:00 - 4:30 - Back at our retreat location, you can choose to try out some self care tools, schedule a massage with Kerry or a hypnotherapy session with Diane.
5:00 - 6:00 - Easy paced run. We'll explore another local gem, Whatcom Falls Park.
6:30 - 7:30 - Back to retreat location for some down time before dinner.
7:30 - Dinner and social time. We'll get some local craft brews from Kulshan so you can sample some more local brews!

7:45 - Breakfast
9:45 - 12:00 - A shoe and gear demo at Bellingham Bay Runners.
12:30 - 2:00 - Back at our retreat location for a buffet lunch, yoga session, some foam rolling or other self care. There is also time here to schedule a session with Kerry for massage or with Diane for hypnotherapy.
3:30 - Shoe demo at Bellingham Bay Runners, another local running store.
5:00 - An easy run down to the bay and Squalicum Beach trail.
6:30 - Celebration dinner out in Bellingham! Lots of choices here, from food truck to brew pubs to some great restaurants. We'll decide together and make this last evening FUN!
That's the rough plan! We'll try to stick to this schedule as a guideline, but the goal is for you all to have a GREAT retreat, so we can be flexible too! There are tons of things to do and trails to explore in Bellingham, and we won't have a chance to explore them all, but we will do our best to show you the best!
This is a rough schedule! I'll be updating it and making changes as planning progresses!
